PILC Directors Chart a New Course for 2011

PILC’s Board officers for 2011 include President D.J. Stubben, Vice President Cynthia Bischof, Secretary Maria Garcia and Treasurer Ray Aplin.
Members of PILC’s Board of Directors gathered in November to applaud a successful year of services, accept new challenges, and elect officers for the year ahead.

Veteran Board member D.J. Stubben was elected to serve as President, her second time to lead the organization.  She first served as President from 2005 to 2007, and her vast ties with the community are important to the Center’s current growth and development.  As the Center’s new leader, she pledged to make a difference to the community and people with disabilities.

Also elected as officers were Vice President Cynthia Bischof, Secretary Maria Garcia and Treasurer Ray Aplin.  Immediate Past President Susan Stokes was recognized for her service to the Center in 2010.  Along with her support of fundraising projects, Susan offered guidance as a program specialist with the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Director Susan Stokes, left, was saluted for her service as Board President.

This year’s annual meeting was devoted to building a stronger presence in the region.  This includes the development of a Center auxiliary to conduct community events, expanding PILC’s three-year strategic plan for outreach and improving Independent Living services in the 26-county Panhandle region.
