PILC Board Members Welcome Anne Jones

Anne Jones
Anne Jones
Panhandle ILC has welcomed another experienced community volunteer to the Center’s Board of Directors.

Anne Jones brings to the Board a strong educational career in special education.  She presently serves as a private tutor and substitute teacher for the Amarillo Independent School District.  She has been actively involved in charitable programs such as Habitat for Humanity, Make-A-Wish and numerous service organizations.

Anne’s experience in special education will be especially valuable to PILC’s youth transition program.  She joins other Board members who have encouraged a strong emphasis on youth programs that promote empowerment, self-confidence and vocational goals.  She is among ten other dedicated volunteers that help shape the Center’s programs and activities.

Another one of Anne’s qualities relative to independent living is a strong work ethic and working with others.  Regarding her Board membership, she said, “This opportunity to serve is another chance, as the saying goes, ‘to pay it forward’.”
