Consumer Survey Improves Local and State Services

The annual Consumer Needs Assessment began hitting mail boxes in July, and PILC Development Director Joe Rogers is ready for valuable responses.

The survey measures the greatest independent living needs among both active and former consumers who respond to a few questions.  Joe says, “I want to hear opinions about employment, transportation, housing, services for youth and other important issues people are concerned about.”  Consumers may feel there are greater needs for adult services such as life skills classes or social activities; this is the opportunity to express ideas.

The survey asks about the accessibility and quality of services at PILC, as well.  Results of the survey will be shared with state administrators and the Texas State Independent Living Counsel.  PILC’s consumer responses will be added to surveys conducted by other Texas centers. The ultimate goal is to improve consumer services both on the local level and across Texas.

Joe Rogers is coordinating this year’s survey and is available to assist consumers in completing the questionnaire.  The survey is also available online at www.panhandleilc.org/survey.
